Middle School volleyball 10-1-25

PIERRE Hurons seventh-grade volleyball teams swept Pierre on Monday.

Back-to-back set wins of 25-19 propelled Huron past Pierre in the A-match.

Grace Diede led the Tigers with seven aces on 18 of 20 serving and two kills. Javeah Mallett was 10 of 10 serving with three aces, while Bentlea Fenske was 3 of 4 serving with an ace and had three kills.

Quinn Pell was 6 of 7 serving with an ace.

Huron won the B-match 26-24 and 25-13.

December Chase was 10 of 10 serving with six aces, while Kaelynn Dubon was 7 of 9 serving with an ace and had two kills.

Sofia Hulst was 6 of 7 serving with five aces, while Hattie Ross had three aces on 6 of 7 serving.

Using set scores of 25-16 and 25-20, Huron won the C-match.

Ashtyn Pederson had seven aces on 7 of 9 serving for the Tigers, while Lowanna Lo was 6 of 7 serving with three aces.

Huron travels to play Watertown on Thursday.

Eighth grade
Hurons eighth-graders had one win in three matches against Pierre on Monday.

Pierre needed a win in a third set defeat Huron the A-match. The set scores were 23-25, 25-15 and 15-6.

Lylli Hofer and Alyssa Urena each had a kill for the Tigers. Hofer was 8 of 10 attacking, while Urena was 5 of 5.

Urena also led Huron in serving with four aces on 12 of 13 serves. Arianna james was 8 of 10 serving, while McKenna Porisch was 7 of 8.

Pierre pulled out the win in the B-match with scores of 25-21 and 28-26.

Delaney John and Maddie McGaugh each had a kill for the Tigers. Adalyn Cunard was 4 of 5 serving, while Gracie Feldhaus and Mercy Htoo were both 3 of 4 serving.

Taelyn Larson was perfect on 14 serves with a pair of aces, while Htoo also had two aces on 5 of 7 serving. Amari Greene was 6 of 9 serving, while Wendy Hea and John each had an ace.

Huron claimed its lone win in the C-match with scores of 25-23 and 25-16.

Grace Htoo was 2 of 5 hitting and 13 of 13 serving with nine aces to lead the Tigers. Hea was 13 of 14 serving with seven aces, while Adrianna Glanzer was 6 of 7 serving with four aces.

Huron travels to play Watertown on Thursday.

Huron teams face Aberdeen Central
HURON Aberdeen Central swept Hurons seventh-grade volleyball team on Thursday.

The Golden Eagles won A-match three sets, 17-25, 25-23 and 15-8.

Bentlea Fenske was 4 of 6 with two aces and had six kills for the Tigers. Grace Died was 12 of 12 serving and had two kills, while Quinn Pell was 8 of 8 serving and had a pair of kills.

Hattie Ross was 11 of 11 serving, while Javeah Mallett was 11 of 11 serving with an ace and Natasha Vasquez-Morales was 7 of 7 with an ace.

Aberdeen Central used back-to-back set wins of 25-8 to get past Huron in the B-match.

Pell was 3 of 3 serving for the Tigers, while Kiera Hansen, Sofia Hulst and Ross were all 2 of 2 serving.

The Golden Eagles claimed the C-match with scores of 25-21 and 25-12.

Madtey Jenson was 12 of 17 serving with nine aces for Huron. MaKenzie Watson was 4 of 6 with two aces, while Addison Parker was 4 of 5 with an ace and Willow Katz was 3 of 3 with an ace.

Eighth-grade
Aberdeen Central emerged with a sweep against Hurons eighth-grade volleyball teams on Thursday.

After pulling out a 28-26 win in the opening set, the Golden Eagles won 25-21 in the second set to get a sweep in the A-match.

Lylli Hofer was 13 of 16 hitting with five kills to lead the Tigers, while Sofialin Lian was 7 of 8 with two kills and McKenna Porisch was 6 of 11 with a kill.

Alyssa Urena converted on 12 of 12 serves with three aces, while Hofer was 6 of 7 with an ace and Arianna James was 5 of 6 with an ace.

Urena also had nine assists and a block, while James and Porisch each had a block.

Aberdeen Central won the B-match with scores of 25-18 and 25-19.

Jade Dunn was 6 of 8 serving with three aces for Huron, while Lay Htee was 7 of 9 serving with an ace and Tiana Parker was 5of 6 with an ace. Adriana Glanzer also had an ace on 3 of 6 serving.

Parker was 3 of 3 attacking, while Htee was 1 of 1 with a kill and Galnzer was 1 of 1.

Using set scores of 25-15 and 25-11, Aberdeen Central won the C-match.

Gracie Feldhaus was 7 of 8 attacking for Huron, while Htee was 5 of 7 with three kills and Mercy Htoo had a kill on 2 of 2 hits.

Amari Greene was 7 of 9 servin gwith an ace for the Tigers, while Htoo was 4 of 4 with an ace and Feldhaus was 4 of 7 with an ace. Greene also had four assists.
