Clark/Willow Lake girls claim ECC cross country title

DE SMET With three of the top six runners in the varsity girls race, Clark/Willow Lake won the Eastner Chateau Conference title on Monday.

Kamryn Nesheim and Emma Bochek were first and second, respectively, for the Cyclones in the varsity girls race. Nesheim had a winning time of 19:26.88, while Bochek finished at 20:36.30.

Cadence Bochek was fourth for Clark/Willow Lake at 21:07.87.
Jennifer Bevers and Johanna Vandersnick were seventh and eighth, respectively, for the Cyclones with times of 21:29.48 and 21:39.44.

Deuel finished second to Clark/Willow Lake in the final girls standings with 26 points.

Deuel had the top three runners in the varsity boys race to win the ECC title with 6 points.

Great Plains Lutheran was second at 16, followed by Florence/Henry at 36, Clark/Willow Lake at 41 and Tri-State at 57.

Cade Hourigan won the boys race for Deuel in 17:09.48, while teammates Sutton Benck was second at 17:52.68 and Tyson Hagberg was third at 18:17.04.

Logan Borns was eighth for Clark/Willow Lake at 19:33.41.
