HURON Top-seeded James Valley Christian opened the Class A boys soccer playoffs with in much the same fashion as it ended the regular season.
The Vikings recorded a 7-0 shutout against Hot Springs on Tuesday at JVC Field, giving them four straight shutouts.
JVC scored three of its goals in the opening half and put the next four on the board during the first 20 minutes of the second half.
Gavin Waldner had two goals and two assists for the Vikings, while Isaac Fast had a pair of goals and an assist.
Also scoring goals for JVC were Noah Fast, Carson Dorris and Isaac Wipf. Noah Fast also had an assist.
The Vikings finished the game with a 25-5 shots-on-goal advantage. It was the second shutout of the season for Jonah Niederbaumer in the net against Hot Springs.
James Valley Christian will host Belle Fourche in the semifinals on Saturday. A game time has not been announced.
