Fire Safety Month with the Huron Fire Department

The Holy Trinity 2nd graders had some exciting visitors for Fire Safety Month! The Huron Fire Department stopped by to teach students important lessons about staying safe in case of a fire.

Students learned to test smoke detectors every month, change the batteries twice a year, and call 911 in an emergency (and to know their home address). Students also practiced how to stop, drop, and roll if their clothing catches fire, get low and go to stay below the smoke, and plan a home fire drill with a safe meeting spotplus many more helpful tips.

The firefighters even brought their fire truck for students to explore! The kids got to see their safety gear up close and hear the lights and sirens in action.
