HURON Hurons seventh-grade volleyball team won a pair of matches against Mitchell on Tuesday.
The Tigers won the A-match 25-28 and 25-20.
Grace Diede was 12 of 12 serving with two aces and three kills, while Bentlea Fenske was 8 of 8 with two aces and three kills.
Hattie Ross was 6 of 7 with two kills, while Quinn Pell was 6 of 7 and Natasha Vasquez was 6 of 9.
Mitchell won the B-match with a pair of 25-18 set wins.
Hattie Ross was 11 of 12 serving for the Tigers, while Kiera Hansen was 6 of 8. Kaelynn Dubon and Angie Marin Gonzalez were both 3 of 5.
Huron used set scores of 25-23 and 25-21 to win the C-match.
McKenzie Watson was 6 of 9 serving with three aces for the Tigers, while Addison Parker was 4 of 5 with an ace and Valetina Velez Sanchez was 5 of 6.
Huron travels to play Aberdeen Central on Tuesday.
Eighth-grade
Hurons eighth-grade volleyball claimed one win against Mitchell on Tuesday.
The Kernels won A-match with set scores of 25-21 and 25-15.
McKenna Porisch was 9 of 11 hitting with three kills to lead Huron, while Lylli Hofer was 8 of 12 with a kill. Alyssa Urena and Arianna James each had a pair of kills.
Urena was 7 of 7 with three aces for Huron and had six assists. James was 7 of 7 serving with an ace, while Porisch was 4 of 4 with two aces and Mercy Htoo was 3 of 4 with two aces.
Hofer was 5 of 5 serving with an ace.
Mitchell also won the B-match with scores of 25-18 and 25-23.
Adalyn Cunard was 5 of 5 attacking with four aces for the Tigers. Taelyn Larson was 5 of 6 with two kills, while Amari Greene had a kill.
Cunard also had a pair of aces for Huron on 5 of 5 serving, while Maddie McGaugh was 8 of 11 with an ace and Larson was 7 of 9 with an ace.
The lone win for the Tigers came in the C-match, where they won with set scores of 27-25 and 25-21.
Adrianna Glanzer, Grace Htoo and Ayla Knutson each had a kill for Huron.
Htoo had four ace serves on 9 of 10 serving, while Glanzer was 6 of 7 with four aces. McGaugh was 6 of 8 with three aces, Knutson was 5 of 7 with two aces and Lay Htee was 4 of 7 with two aces.
Huron travels to play Aberdeen Central on Tuesday.
