Uttecht wins CSDC title
GETTYSBURG Wolsey-Wessington senior Kendal Uttecht won the Central South Dakota Conference title during the varsity girls race on Oct. 8 at Gettysburg Golf Course.

Uttecht turned in a time of 19:44.60 to edge Highmore-Harrold senior Autumn Fallis, who had a time of 19:53.90, for the top spot.

Whitley Baloun of Highmore-Harrold was 10th at 21:26.00 and teammate Jaylynn Knox was 20th at 22:47.00.

Seventh-grader Truen Bast led a trio of Miller runners in the top 20. Bast was 13th at 22:08.90, while Gabby Werdel was 14th at 22:10.70 and Morah Swartzendruber was 16th at 22:16.30.

Herreid/Selby Area claimed the girls team title with 12 points, while Highmore-Harrold was second at 20. Miller was third at 28, followed by Gettysburg at 29 and North Central at 45.

Dupree won the boys CSDC title with 14 points. North Central was second at 21, followed by Biston at 48. Highmore-Harrold was fourth at 51, Miller was eighth at 84, Sunshine Bible Academy was 10th at 103 and Wolsey-Wessington was 12th at 164.

Tayshaun Cudmore of Dupree won the boys varsity race in 16:02.00.

Reagain Sandness was seventh for SBA at 17:55.40, while Jordan Erfman of Highmore-Harrold was ninth at 18:11.20.

Dakota Valley Conference Meet
COLMAN Iroquois/Lake Preston freshman Case Carlson was fourth and De Smet had four runners in the top 15 to finish second at the Dakota Valley Conference Meet on Oct. 8 at Sunrise Ridge Golf Course.

St. Marys had three runners in the top 13 to claim the boys team title with 19 points. De Smet was second at 27, followed by Deubrook Area at 31, Arlington at 33 and Castlewood at 35.

Nolan Eidson of Castlewood was the boys medalist with a winning time of 17:47.

Carlson turned in a time of 18:32 to finish fourth for the Sharks.

Jordan Botkin was 10th for De Smet at 19:55, followed by teammates Chase Temme at 20:09 and Owen Anderson at 20:21. Cutler Davis was 15th for the Bulldogs at 20:46.

Deubrook Area won the DVC girls title with 12 points. St. Marys was second at 15 and Arlington was third at 20.

Kylee Johnson of Deubrook Area won the varsity girls race in 20:14.

Avah Newman of Iroquois/Lake Preston was 17th at 27:02.

JVC boys second in Parkston
PARKSTON The James Valley Christian boys finished second at the Ethan/Parkston Meet on Oct. 9 at the Parkston Country Club.

Freeman won the event with 26 points, while the Vikings had 41 points to edge Mt. Vernon/Plankinton and Avon, which finished at 45 and 46, respectively, for the second spot. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was fifth at 63.

Kaden Ober won the boys varsity race for JVC in 17:01, while teammate Levi Crandall was fifth at 18:03.23. Giddeon Waldner was 18th for the Vikings at 19:22.84.

Sanborn Central/Woonsockets Jackson Wolter was third at 17:51.

James Valley Christian was fourth in the girls standings at 52.

Kimball/White Lake won the girls title at 17. Ethan/Parkston was second at 36, with Mt. Vernon/Plankinton being a point back in third.

Alli McCord of Kimball/White Lake won the girls varsity race in 19:41.

Hadasah Olson was the top girls runner for JVC, finishing 11th at 21:49.

Micaiah Branter was 17th at 22:42 and Lara Olowu-Davies was 23rd at 24:04.

Andie Aughenbaugh of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was 21st at 23:08, while Alexis Roesler of Wessington Springs was 22nd at 23:29.

JVC girls, SCWs VonEye wins titles in Howard
HOWARD James Valley Christian won the team title, while Sanborn Central/Woonsockets Emrie VonEye claimed the individual girls title during the Howard Invite on Oct. 6

The Lady Vikings were the lone team to qualify for a team score.

VonEye had a winning time of 19:24.53 for the Lady Blackhawks.

Hadasah Olson was fourth for JVC with time of 20:23.10, while teammate Micaiah Brantner was seventh at 21:10.21.

Mykelti Olson was 11th for the Lady Vikings at 22:01.25, while Rylin Wipf was 15th at 22:24.28.

Trailing Wipf across the finish line were Alexis Roesler of Wessington Springs,

Elizabeth Boschee of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket and Lara Olowu-Davies of JVC in spots No. 16-18, respectively.

With three of the top four runners in the boys race, Mitchell Christian claimed the boys title with 28 points. Freeman was second at 63, followed by James Valley Christian at 91. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was sixth at 109.

Silas Holdeman and Luke Mentele finished first and second, respectively, for Mitchell Christian with times of 15:52.15 and 16:11.59.

Kaden Ober of James Valley Christian was third at 16:22.22, while teammate Levi Crandall was 10th at 17:59.23.

Jackson Wolter of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket was sixth at 17:34.84, while Case Carlson of Iroquois/Lake Preston was eighth at 17:41.13.

Clark/Willow Lake girls win Northeast Conference title
WEBSTER With four runners in the top 13, Clark/Willow Lake won the girls title during the Northeast Conference Meet on Oct. 9 at the Webster Golf Club.

The Cyclones finished with 29 points to claim the top spot, while Aberdeen Roncalli was second at 34. Milbank was third at 36, followed by Deuel at 71, Groton Area at 71 and Redfield at 95.

Kamryn Nesheim won the girls race for Clark/Willow Lake in 19:36.70. Emma Bochek was sixth for the Cyclones at 21:11.46, while Cadence Bochek was 10th at 21:48.85 and Johanna Vandersnick was 13th at 22:21.22.

Aly Gruenwald was the top runner in the race for Redfield, finishing 22nd at 23:32.12.

Deuel claimed the boys title with 29 points, while Milbank was just a point back in second place.

Sisseton was third at 45, followed by Webster Area at 84 and Aberdeen Roncalli at 89.

Clark/Willow Lake was seventh at 98.

Jeter Scoular of Milbank won the varsity boys race in 17:25.33.

Payton Moore of Redfield was 13th at 19:42.17, while Logan Borns of Clark/Willow Lake was 17th at 20:10.22.

Also cracking the top 25 in the boys race was Aksel Gjerde of Clark/Willow Lake, who was NO. 22 at 20:57.97.
