W/WS/SC earns win

CHAMBERLAIN Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central, which is ranked No. 3 in Class 11B, earned its seventh straight win with a 20-8 victory against Chamberlain on Friday.

The Bucks opened a 13-0 lead in the first half en route to the victory.

Both teams then scored in the final quarter.

Wesley Molnar had the opening touchdown for Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central in the first quarter on a 3-yard run.

A 2-yard touchdown run by quarterback Luke Larson in the second quarter gave the Bucks a 13-0 advantage at the half.

Larson then connected with Colby Flowers on an 11-yard scoring strike in the final quarter to make it 20-0.

Austin Rose had a 9-yard run for Chamberlains only score in the game.

Larson was 7 of 14 passing with 84 yards and a touchdown for W/WS/SC.
He also carried the ball 13 times for 84 yards.

Molnar finished with 34 yards rushing on 10 carries and had two catches for 39 yards for the Bucks. Edwards had three catches for 47 yards.

Defensively, Flowers had 5.5 tackles and a fumble recovery for Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central. Molnar, Edwards and Riley Kneen also had interceptions for the Bucks, while Hunter Fenske had seven tackles.

Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central will close the regular season on Friday against Mt. Vernon/Plankinton in Wessington Springs.
