HOSKINS, Neb. — Celebration of life service for Richard D. Rick Gascoigne, 68, of Hoskins, Neb., will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2025, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk, Neb. Pastor Eric Gradberg will be officiating the service. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.
Rick passed away on Sunday, Oct. 19, at his residence in Hoskins. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Rick was born on September 19, 1957 in Huron, to Richard Stacy and Ruth Ann (Harrell) Gascoigne. He attended grade school in Huron and graduated from Huron High School. After high school, Rick worked with his dad doing bridge construction until 1978. Rick and his dad then started their own construction company, Gascoigne Construction, until he fathers retirement in 1982. Rick married Denise Godfrey on November 21, 1989, in Huron. Rick then owned and operated Gascoigne Construction until his passing. He enjoyed fishing, working on his own projects, playing cards, camping, being active and staying busy, and he loved spending time with his family. Rick was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife Denise Gascoigne of Hoskins, Neb., children Brandon (Paula) Gascoigne of Norfolk, Neb., Brittney Nicholson (fianc Luke Kaufman) of Pocahontas, Iowa, Robbie (Leslie) Gascoigne of Urbana, Ill., Allyson (Patrick) Olson of Lesterville, 10 grandchildren, siblings Debbie (Doug) Brock of Huron, and Terry (Twila) Gascoigne of Huron. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ruth Gascoigne.
