WESSINGTON SPRINGS Mt. Vernon/Plankinton spoiled Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Centrals run at perfect season on Friday with a 30-6 victory in the regular-season finale for both teams.
The lone touchdown for the Bucks, who are now 7-1, was a 35-yard touchdown pass from Luke Larson to McCoy Schulz.
Larson finished 3 of 18 passing with a pair of interceptions for W/WS/SC. Wesley Molnar carried the ball eight times for 60 yards.
Defensively, Larson had 9.5 tackles for the Bucks, while Molnar had seven tackles and an interception and Colby Flowers had 4.5 tackles, including a sack.
No stats were available for Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, which ended the season at 4-4.
Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central will open the Class 11B playoffs with a 6 p.m., game against Winner on Thursday in Wessington Springs.
