Fall milling and paving in Huron begins Monday

HURON The fall portion of the milling and paving schedule for the City of Huron in 2025 is set to begin work on Monday at 7 a.m.

The streets affected (by approximate sequence of milling order):
– Lampert Court
– Arizona Ave. SW from Ninth St. to 15th St.
– Minnesota Ave. SW from 15th St. to pavement ends on Saxton Dr.
– Nevada Ave. SW from Ninth St. to Sixth St.
– Fifth St. SW from Lincoln Ave. to West of Nicollet Ave.
– Fourth St. SW from Lincoln Ave. to Nicollet Ave.
– Kansas Ave. NE from South of Tenth St. to 12th St.
– Tenth St. NE from Dakota Ave. to Kansas Ave.
– 14th St. NE from Dakota Ave. to Kansas Ave.

The milling should take three days to complete. No parking signs will be placed in each area to be done the day prior to starting, so residents will know when the work will start in an area. Any cars on the street at the start of operations will be towed at the owners expense. The streets will be completely blocked off during the milling and paving operations.

If a homes sump pump drains into the street being paved, the landowner should reroute it immediately to the backyard until the street paving is complete. Do not use sprinkler systems during the paving timeframe. This will assist in expediting the paving process, as the street must be dry to begin paving.

Paving will begin immediately after milling is complete and will go in reverse order of the milling.

The plan is to mill from October 27 to 29, then to pave from October 30 to November 3, weather permitting.
