Larry Jones, 73

ROSEVILLE, Minn. Larry D. Jones, 73, passed away on October 8, 2025, from complications caused by Lewy Body Dementia. Larry will be remembered for his love of life, people, community, his kindness, and quick wit. He touched countless hearts from South Dakota to Nebraska to Minnesota.

Larry was the youngest of seven siblings. His early years were spent on the Cheyenne Indian Reservation, before the family moved to a home on the Missouri River near Gettysburg.

Larry excelled in high school sports, earning recognition in football, basketball and track.These achievements were a testament to his athleticism, determination and team spirit.

After graduating from SDSU, Larry dedicated his life to service and community. His career in agricultural lending spanned 40 years. Larry helped finance a variety of ventures taking him across the country and to Mongolia. His deep commitment to supporting agriculture was especially present in his joy serving the Hutterite communities. Larry served on the Huron School Board and participated in civic organizations.

Sports remained a passion. Larry enjoyed cycling the scenic trails of the Twin Cities, riding 3,400 miles each summer. A loyal fan of the Vikings, Timberwolves and Twins, he never missed a chance to cheer on his teams.

Larrys greatest joy was his family. Larry and Pams story together started in their high school years culminating in 51 years of marriage.Together, they raised three daughtersCassandra, Stefanie, and Libbyall of whom followed in their fathers footsteps of hard work and dedication. Larry was immensely proud of their accomplishments and cherished his role as a grandfather to Elinor, Louisa, Hayden, Zhandile, and Soren.
