Sensory Movie Morning November 7, 2025, at 10 a.m., all ages
Looking for a cozy way to spend your Friday morning? Join us for an exciting screening of The Peanuts Movie! Admission is free and open to the public, but the event is designed especially for individuals with sensory sensitivities. Families, caregivers, and friends are all welcome.
What to Expect: Subtitled captions, lower sound, dimmed lights, room to move around and take breaks, a relaxed and welcoming space for all, tables for comfort or fidget items, and popcorn provided (or feel free to bring your own).
Kids Korner (Birth Grade 3)
Its Dinovember and National Picture Book Month at the Huron Public Library! The Kids Korner has a month packed full of fun programs and activities for kids and families to enjoy.
Throughout the month, families can stop in for passive activities celebrating both dinosaurs and picture books including themed look-and-find challenges and a chance to share your favorite book characters on our community display!
A special highlight this month is our Dino & Friends Stuffed Animal Library Sleepover on Wednesday, November 12. Kids can drop off their favorite stuffed animal friends by 7 p.m. for a night of adventures in the library! Watch the Librarys Facebook page for photos of the mischievous fun, and pick up your cuddly pals the next day.
Our After the Bell afterschool activities begin with an Early Release Wednesday, November 5, from 1:30 to 3:15 p.m., featuring messy and creative fun with Pumpkin Oobleck, DIY Pumpkin Slime, and Veterans Day card-making. After the Bell continues on November 12 and November 19 at 4 p.m., wrapping up the month with a cozy Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Party!
Homeschool Bookbuddies & Hangout will meet on November 12 at 11 a.m. to continue the America 250 Book Challenge, and will enjoy a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Party on November 19.
Families with little ones ages 04 wont want to miss Music Makers with Emily Salinas on Saturday, November 8, at 10 a.m. This free, fun music class for moms and tots encourages singing, movement, and play.

Tweens & Teens (Grades 412)
Among Us in Real Life November 14 at 5 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Dive into the ultimate game of Among Us at the libraryno space suits required! Race to finish your tasks before the sneaky imposter strikes. Registration is required.
Fun with Foods November 19 at 3:30 p.m. Join us for our November Fun with Foods program as we make and serve snacks for the Kids Korner Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Event! Registration is required.
Laser Tag at the Library November 21 at 5 p.m. Get ready for an action-packed adventure at the library! Grab your friends and team up for fast-paced laser tag battles right here in our own arena. Players will dodge behind barriers, work together in teams, and compete in short rounds of exciting games like Free-For-All, Team Battle, and Capture the Base. All equipment is providedjust bring your energy and strategy! Matches will last about 57 minutes, and players will rotate so everyone gets a turn. Space is limited; registration is required.
Nerf Wars at the Library November 21 at 6 p.m. Gear up for an epic Nerf battle at the library! Players will team up, duck behind barriers, and test their aim in exciting rounds of Nerf action. Well play games like Capture the Flag, Team Battle, and Last Player Standing. All Nerf blasters, darts, and safety glasses are provided. Matches will run in short rounds so everyone gets a chance to play. Space is limited; registration is required.
Adult Activities
Heirlooms: Creative Life Writing Workshop November 1, 2025 at 2 p.m. Meet in person at the Huron Public Library (presented virtually via Zoom). Reflect, write, and rediscover meaning in your life journey during this guided workshop with author and educator Molly Barari. Explore the wisdom that comes with aging, practice personal storytelling, and learn how writing can be a powerful tool for connection and growth. No writing experience neededjust bring a pen and an open mind! Sponsored by the South Dakota Humanities Council.
Monday Movies November 3, 2025, at 6 p.m. Join us for a screening of the classic romantic comedy Pillow Talk! An interior decorator and a playboy songwriter share a telephone party lineand plenty of witty banteras they navigate love, jealousy, and mistaken identity.
Veteran Presentation & Community Sharing Event November 4, 2025, at 6 p.m. Join Vietnam nurse Sharon Rex as she shares her experiences serving our country. Community members are invited to bring veteran-related items or memorabilia and share their own stories. All are welcome to attend and honor local veterans.
Minute to Win It: Fall Game Night November 14, at 6:30 p.m. Think you can beat the clock? Join us for a lively night of 60-second challenges that will put your balance, coordination, and creativity to the test! Come earlydoors open at 6:30 p.m. and games begin at 6:45 p.m. Bring your competitive spirit and get ready for laughter, fun, and fast-paced games! Registration is required.
Library closures and late opening
The Huron Public Library will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day, and November 2730 for Thanksgiving. On Thursday, November 13, the Library will open at 10:30 a.m. due to staff training.
