At Christmas time, the Huron area community has worked together for more than 75 years to help the less fortunate with gifts of food for the family and clothing and toys for the children.
This year, the Huron Area Salvation Army Angel Tree program offers three ways for businesses, community groups and individuals to impact the program and to stock the shelves of the Christmas Store.
The first is through a monetary donation to the Salvation Army, Angel Tree Program, 237 Illinois Ave. SW, Huron, SD 57350.
The second is by picking up Angel Tree tags from Runnings or Walmart. The suggested items can be purchased and delivered to the box near the trees at the stores or to the Salvation Army. Cards will be on display at the Huron Runnings from November 28 to December 15. They will be displayed at the Huron Walmart from December 1 to December 15.
Finally, individuals, community groups and businesses can choose to register with the Salvation Army at 605-352-3438 to sponsor a family.
