WATERTOWN With 259 points, Wolsey-Wessington finished as runner-up in the Grand Champion Cheer final standings during the Class A State Competition on Friday at Watertown Civic Arena.
Sioux Valley claimed the top spot with 283 points, while St. Marys was third in the 20-team event at 257.
Rounding out the top five were Winner Area at 246 and Dell Rapids at 238.
Iroquois/Lake Preston was 11th in the final standings at 198.
Wolsey-Wessington won the small squad state title with 259 , while Parkston was second at 234.5 and Duebrook Area was third at 229.5. Iroquois/Lake Preston was sixth at 198.
Sioux Valley won the large squad with 283.
Dakota Valley was the Class A dance grand champion with 590 points, while Winner was second at 460.5.
