HURON –– The Beadle County Commissioner approved jail agreements presented by Sheriff Doug Solem. Thirteen agreements were presented for jail with counties in the state along with thirteen agreements for juvenile detention. Solem reported that jail rates are currently $105 per day and JDC rates are $325 per day.
The commission also approved the purchase of a new pickup for the sheriff department.
A retirement and a resignation were accepted by the commission and a new hire in the Register of Deeds office was approved.
Commissioners approved the 4-H memorandum to pay for the county’s 4-H extension officer.
Preparing for the annual township meeting, commissioners then engaged in a lengthy review of job descriptions for the weed board supervisor and the emergency management director. They also reviewed policies.
The annual township meeting was held Tuesday evening at the county highway building.
