Clark/Willow Lake 58, Hamlin 50
CLARK — Third-ranked Clark/Willow Lake pulled away from fourth-ranked Hamlin in the fourth quarter to earn a 58-50 victory in a battle between Class A ranked teams.

The Cyclones, who improved to 18-2, trailed 42-38 entering the final quarter, but outscored Hamlin 20-8 during the final eight minutes of play to collect the win.

Sully Felberg had 25 points to lead Clark/Willow Lake, while Chris Bevers had 13 points and Bo Begeman had 10 points.

Chris Bevers had eight rebounds and three steals for the Cylcones, while Emmerson Larson had three assists.

Boden Stevenson had 21 points for Hamlin,w hich is now 16-3. Jackson Wadsworth added 19 points.

Trig Heinrich had five rebounds for the Chargers, while Stevenson had three steals.

Thursday’s game closed the regular season for Clark/Willow Lake. Hamlin travels to play Redfield on Tuesday.

WOONSOCKET — Sam Baruth had 24 points, all coming on 3-pointers, to lead Sanborn Central/Woonsocket to a 72-50 victory against Iroquois/Lake Preston on Thursday in a 281 Conference matchup.

The Blackhawks, who are ranked No. 9 in Class B, outscored Iroquois/Lake Preston 24-6 in the second quarter to build a 41-17 lead at the half.

Grant Edwards had 17 points for Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, which improved to 15-4, while McCoy Schulz and Landon Jensen finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Schulz had a team-high 10 rebounds for the Blackhawks. Schulz and Jensen each had four assists and three steals.

Lucas Peskey led Iroquois/Lake Peston, which is 8-11, with 22 points. Brycen Blue had 19 points.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket closes the regular season at Wessington Springs on Friday. Iroquois/Lake Preston travels to play De Smet on Friday in its season finale.

Also reaching double figures for Wolsey-Wessington, which is now 11-9, was Caleb Richmond with 18 points. Sawyer Nelson added nine points.

Devin Enander led Hitchcock-Tulare with 22 points, while Deegan Moes converted on five 3-pointers for 15 points.

Thursday’s game capped the regular season for Wolsey-Wessington. Hitchcock-Tulare will play Northwestern in Tulare on Friday to close the regular season.

FORESTBURG — James Valley Christian escaped with a 49-48 victory against No. 9-rated Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in a 281 Conference matchup on Tuesday.

The Vikings trailed 28-24 at the half and 37-35 heading into the fourth quarter, but managed to emerge with the victory to improve to 11-8.

Jayven Van Scharrel had 13 points to lead three players in double figures for JVC. Noah Fast had 12 points, while Kyler Boomsma added 10 points.

Grant Edwards had a game-high 16 points for Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, which is now 14-4. Landon Jensen had 13 points, while Eli White and McCoy Schulz added 10 and nine points, respectively.

Grant Wilkinson had 24 points and 25 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs, who improved to 14-4. Slayten Wilkinson had 21 points, while Noah Luethmers had 16 points and Carter Wilkinson had 12 points.

Slayten Wilkinson had five assists and two steals for De Smet.

Cade Hexem had 19 points for Estelline/Hendricks, which is now 15-4. Drayden Cokens also reached double figures with 16 points.

The Monarchs trailed 44-42 heading into the final quarter, but outscored Wolsey-Wessington 19-8 during the final eight minutes to secure the win.

Brennan Wolf-Donat had 17 points to lead three players in double figures for Warner, which improved to 13-5. Jesiah Baum had 12 points, while Braydon Kroll had 10 points.

Caleb Richmond led the Warbirds, who are now 10-9, with 16 points. Larz Tvedt and Jett Kleinsasser added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

After holding a 25-24 lead at the half, the Thunder outscored SBA 29-20 in the third quarter to lead 54-44 heading into the final quarter.

Toby Mickelson had 14 points to lead the Crusaders, who are now 1-18. Isaac Hague had 11 points, while Avery Hall and Henrik with each had eight points.

Anders Wipf had 11 rebounds for SBA. Henrik Wipf had four assists and four steals.

No statistics were available for Andes Central/Dakota Christian, which improved to 3-15.

Hamlin 53, Clark/Willow Lake 48
CLARK — In a battle bewteen two state-ranked teams in Class A, it was No. 2 Hamlin recording a 53-48 victory against No. 7 Clark/Willow Lake on Thursday.

The game was tied 24-24 at the half and Hamlin carried a 34-33 advantage into the final quarter.

Addison Neuendorf had 23 points, including a 10-of-10 effort from the free-throw line, to lead the Chargers, who are now 19-1. Issie Steffensen had 15 points, while Addelyn Jensen added 11 points.
Jensen also had eight rebounds.

Shelby Begeman was the lone player to reach double figures for Clark/Willow Lake, which is now 17-3, with 16 points. Kamryn Nesheim and Brynn Roehrich each had eight points.

Begeman had a team-high 12 rebounds for the Cyclones. Nesheim had seven assists. Begeman and Jenny Bevers each had a pair of steals.

Thursday’s game ended the regular season for both teams. They will begin post season play next week.

Hadlee Holt had 10 points for Iroquois/Lake Preston, which is now 15-5.

WOLSEY — With a 17-6 run in the second quarter, Wolsey-Wessington defeated Warner 57-49 on Tuesday.

The Lady Warbirds opened a 28-16 lead at the half and lef 40-30 heading into the final quarter.

Shae Uttecht had a game-high 29 points to lead Wolsey-Wessington, which improved to 11-8. Maria Nelson had 11 points, while Raya Toupal and Kendal Uttecht added eight and seven points, respectively.

Kaydee Mackner was the lone player to reach double figures for Warner with 12 points. Miah Leidholt had eight points for the Lady Monarchs, who are now 13-6, while Brynn Hill and Olivia Marcuson each had seven points.

The Chargers, who are now 4-15, led 26-13 at the half and outscored SBA 11-6 in the third quarter to carry a 37-19 lead into the final quarter.

Cierra Mickelson had 16 points to lead the Lady Crusaders, who are now 1-18. Madison Thieman, Soleil Mickelson and Kalyn Sarchet each had four points.

Ciera Mickelson had team highs of 12 rebounds and seven steals. She also had two assists, along with Tessa Hinman.

Hadlee Holt had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead Iroquois/Lake Preston, which is now 7-12. Bentlee Holt had seven points and 11 rebounds.
