MITCHELL — Huron qualified seven wrestlers for the state tournament during the Region 3A Tournament on Saturday.
The Tigers, who are a pair of individual champions, were fourth in the final team standings with 135 points. Pierre claimed the team title with 252, while Aberdeen Central was second at 243.5 and Madison was third at 208.
Winning individual titles for Huron were Noah Hofer at 106 pounds and Carter Nelson at 113. Hofer brings in a 19-12 record to the state tournament, while Nelson is 25-8.
Lucas Chaparro was second for the Tigers at 190. He is 22-13 this season.
Finishing third for the Tigers were Brady Meyer at 138, Teagan Lien at 157 and Ben Cardona at 215.
Meyer carries a 23-13 record into the state tournament, while Lien is 18-9 and Cardona is 11-8.
Kadrian Moreno also advances to the state tournament for Huron after finishing fourth in the region at 120. He is 14-14.
The Class A State Tournament begins Thursday and runs through Saturday at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.
