Girls’ Class A and B SoDak 16 pairings set

Highmore-Harrold, De Smet set to play in Class B SoDak 16
HURON — A pair of area teams will play in the Class B SoDak 16, while the Huron Arena will host a pair of matchups on Thursday. 

Highmore-Harrold is the No. 10 seed with a 18-4 record and will face No. 7 Centerville (20-2) in Mitchell at 7 p.m.

De Smet is the No. 15 seed with an 11-11 record and will play No. 2 Parkston in Mitchell at 5:30 p.m.

The first of two games at Huron Arena will feature No. 8 Waubay/Summit (20-2) against No. 9 Corsica-Stickney (16-5) at 5:30 p.m. The second game will be No. 5 Colman-Egna (21-1) against No. 12 Warner (16-6) at 7 p.m.

Lyman, which is 20-2,is the top seed for the Class B SoDak 16 and will face No. 16 McIntosh (14-7) in at Stanley County at 6 p.m.

In other Class B SoDak 16 matchups, No. 3 Bennett County (19-3) plays No. 14 Ipswich (15-7) in Winner at 6 p.m.; No. 4 Ethan (20-2) plays No. 13 Deubrook Area (13-9) in Parker at 7 p.m.; and No. 6 Harding County (21-1) plays No. 11 Jones County (15-5) in Spearfish at 6 p.m. MT. 

The winners from Thursday’s games will advance to the Class B State Tournament, which is slated March 12-14 in Brookings. 

Miller is No. 12 seed for Class A SoDak 16
HURON — Miller, which is 17-5, will be the No. 12 seed for the Class A SoDak 16 on Thursday. 

The Rustlers will face fifth-seeded Lennox, which is 18-3, at 5:30 p.m., at Madison High School. 

Hamlin is the top seed for the Class A SoDak 16 with a 20-1 record and will face No. 16 Sisseton (11-10 at 7 p.m., at Watertown Civic Arena. 

Second-seeded Mahpiya Luta is the lone undefeated team at 20-0 and will face No. 15 McCook Central/Montrose (15-7) at 6 p.m. At Todd County High School. 

In other Class A SoDak 16 matchups, No. 3 Wagner (18-2) will face No. 14 Dell Rapids (15-7) at 7 p.m., at Irene-Wakonda High School; No. 4 Sioux Valley (20-2) plays No. 13 St. Thomas More (16-5) at 5:30 p.m., in Chamberlain; No. 6 Sioux Falls Christain (18-4) plays No. 11 Groton Area (16-6 at Madison High School at 7 p.m.; No. 7 West Central (17-4) plays No. 10 Mobridge-Pollock (17-4) in Chamberlain at 7 p.m.; and No. 8 Rapid City Christian (17-4) plays No. 9 Lakota Tech in Wall at 6 p.m. MT. 

The winners from the SoDak 16 advance to the Class A State Tournament, which is scheduled March 12-14 in Watertown.
