Tigers girls battle Sioux Falls Jefferson in SoDak 16

Huron girls play Jefferson in SoDak 16
HURON — The Huron girls’ basketball team will be the No. 11 seed for the Class AA SoDak 16, which will be played Friday. 

The Tigers, who are 10-10, will travel to play No. 6 Sioux Falls Jefferson, whichis 13-7 at 6 p.m.

The Cavaliers defeated Huron 65-54 on Jan. 24 at Huron Arena. 

With a 20-0 record, Brandon Valley is the top seed for the Class AA girls SoDak16. The Lynx will host Sturgis (7-13) at 6 p.m.

In the other Class AA SoDak 16 matchups, No. 2 O’Gorman (19-1) hosts No. 15 Pierre (5-15); No. 3 Sioux Falls Washington (16-4) hosts No. 14 Sioux Falls Roosevelt (7-13) at 6 p.m.; No. 4 Rapid City Stevens (16-4) hosts No. 13 Yankton (8-12) at 6 p.m. MT; No. 5 Aberdeen Central (14-6) hosts Rapid City Central (9-11); No. 7 Mitchell (12-8) hosts No. 10 Spearfish (12-8) at 6 p.m.; and No. 8 Tea Area (11-9) hosts No. 9 Harrisburg (10-10) at 7 p.m.

Winners from Friday games advance to the Class AA State Tournament, which is March 12-14 in Rapid City.
