Cyclones earn state berth in Class A

WATERTOWN –– The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones jumped out early and were up 45-24 at half over the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars en route to a 77-41 victory in SoDak 16 action in Watertown Tuesday.
The Cyclones move to 20-2 and secure the third seed in the State “A” Boys’ Basketball Tournament, set for March 19-21 in Rapid City.
Chris Bevers had a big game for the Cyclones, with 27 points. Sully Felberg added 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Emmerson Larson added 14 points and nabbed five steals.
The Fighting Cougars finish the year with a 15-7 record. Owen Schmidt and Andrew Sabers each bucketed 12 points to lead MCM.
The Cyclones will face Stanley County as the final game on Thursday’s opening day of play at state.
