Pair of Spartans lead All-281 boys’ team

HURON –– Two Wessington Springs seniors lead the way on the first team of the 281 Conference All-Conference team, named Monday.
Seniors Colby Flowers and Parker Graff were each named to the first team, as were fellow seniors Caleb Richmond of Wolsey-Wessington and McCoy Schulz of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket. Junior Lucas Peskey of Iroquois/Lake Preston was the lone underclassman named to the first team.
Noah Fast of James Valley Christian was the lone sophomore named to the second team. He was joined by seniors Grant Edwards of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket and Logan Mebius of Wessington Springs and juniors Larz Tvedt of Wolsey-Wessington and Patrick Maynard of Hitchcock-Tulare.
Sophomore Brooks McPeak was the lone Highmore-Harrold player recognized, making the third team. Joining him on the third team were seniors Landon Jensen of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, Luke Larson of Wessington Springs, and Jayven Van Scharrel of James Valley Christian as well as junior Devin Enander of Hitchcock-Tulare.
Pair of Blackhawks lead All-281 girls’ team
HURON –– The 281 All-Conference girls basketball teams were announced Monday. Senior Liz Boschee capped off a stellar career with Sanborn Central/Woonsocket with a first-team selection. Teammate Addison Bartholow, a junior, was also selected to the first team.
Senior Hadlee Holt of Iroquois/Lake Preston, junior Shae Uttecht of Wolsey-Wessington, and sophomore Jada Baloun of Highmore-Harrold were also selected to the first team.
The second team featured two members of the Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots, junior Emmerie Arthurs and senior Gracyn Bixler. Seniors Autumn Fallis of Highmore-Harrold and Kendal Uttecht of Wolsey-Wessington were joined by freshman Kenzie Kolousek of Wessington Springs to fill out the second team.
Highmore-Harrold’s Addison McDonnell, a senior, and sophomore Elle Stagg led the third team. They were joined by senior Cambree Hoekman of Hitchcock-Tulare, junior Kendall Kolousek of Wessington Springs, and sophomore Laney Goertz of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket.
