Heartland hoopsters to participate in 3-Class Shootout

HURON — Nine area basketball players will participate in the 38th Annual 3-Class Shootout, which is scheduled for Saturday at the McCook Central Auditorium in Salem.
All three classes in both boys and girls will be represented by many of the top seniors in South Dakota.
The Class AA girls will battle the Class A girls in the opening game at 1 p.m., with the winner of that game facing the Class B girls at 2:30 p.m.
The Class AA boys will play the Class A boys at 4 p.m., with the winner facing the Class B boys at 5:30 p.m.
A dunk contest will be held following the first boys’ game.
Playing for the Class B girls will be Liz Boschee of Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, Hazel Luethmers of De Smet and Hadlee Holt of Iroquois/Lake Preston.
Hylton Heinz of Huron will play for the Class AA girls.
Grant Wilkinson of De Smet and Wessington Springs teammates Colby Flowers and Parker Graff will play for the Class B boys. Isaak Hunter of Miller will play for Class A, while Blake Ellwein of Huron will play for Class AA.
