The Travelin’ Moburys Take the Stage Sunday, April 12
The De Smet Concert Series proudly kicks off its 11th season on Sunday, April 12, at 3 p.m., with an electrifying performance by The Travelin’ Moburys. This talented trio of instrumentalists and vocalists delivers a crowd-pleasing blend of classic country, enriched with touches of folk, pop, blues, and Americana—creating a sound that resonates with audiences of all ages.
Formed in 2010, The Travelin’ Moburys bring together three accomplished musicians whose individual styles combine into something truly special. Their performances are more than concerts; they are musical journeys filled with both fresh interpretations and beloved classics. At the heart of their appeal are their remarkable vocals. Each member shines individually, yet together they create rich harmonies that captivate audiences from the very first note.
Meet The Travelin’ Moburys:
Laura Moe is known for her distinctive and sought-after vocal sound. Her versatility across genres shapes her unique style, and her guitar work provides a strong musical foundation for the group.
Francis Duxbury III, the primary songwriter of the trio, brings heartfelt storytelling to life through his music. His warm voice, relatable lyrics, and soothing melodies have earned his work the reputation of “comfort music.” Bill Travers has been performing since his teenage years, with roots in Country music and a deep appreciation for a wide range of styles. From Waylon and Willie to Joe Cocker, Bill’s dynamic voice and ability to channel different vocal styles create an authentic and engaging experience. His melodic guitar playing perfectly complements the group’s signature sound.
The 2026 De Smet Concert Series will feature five Sunday afternoon concerts running from April through September, offering a season full of variety and outstanding entertainment. The schedule following the Moburys concert:
• May 3 – Richie Lee & The Fabulous 50’s (50’s music) • June 21 – Jamie Aaron Kelly (“Christmas in June”) • August 9 – Chad Lee Duo (dueling keyboards & guitars) • September 20 – Pianomania! Rockin’ the 1950’s (featuring Jared Freiburg on piano & vocals) Season memberships are available for $65 and include admission to all five concerts—a great value at just $13 per show. Individual concert tickets are $25.
