Freedom truck mobile museum coming to Huron

Interactive exhibit celebrates 250 years of American independence

HURON — The Huron Public Library will host a unique traveling exhibit this summer as the Freedom Truck Mobile Museum arrives for a three-day event in Huron.

The exhibit will be open to the public:

• July 10: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

• July 11: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

• July 12: 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

The event will be held in the parking lot of the Huron Arena: 150 5th St SW.

A fleet of six mobile museums, known as “Freedom Trucks,” is traveling across the country throughout 2026 to share the story of American independence. Designed for visitors of all ages, the exhibit highlights how 13 colonies declared independence, defeated the world’s most powerful empire, and secured American sovereignty 250 years ago.

Interactive features include a “Are You a Loyalist or Patriot?” quiz, a digital kiosk where visitors can sign their name to the Declaration of Independence, and a “Wall of 50 American Heroes.”

The Freedom Truck Mobile Museums were created in partnership with PragerU and Hillsdale College, with support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. For more information please visit freedom250.org.

The event is free and open to the public!
