HURON. – Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce the addition of iovera® treatment, an advanced, non-opioid therapy designed to help manage pain and improve patient outcomes for chronic pain and orthopedic procedures.
The iovera® system uses targeted cold therapy injections to temporarily interrupt pain signals, offering patients effective relief while supporting mobility and recovery. This minimally invasive treatment can be used as part of a comprehensive care plan to reduce discomfort and enhance overall quality of life.
At HRMC, Leonard Wonnenberg, PA-C, offers iovera® as part of orthopedic surgical preparation and recovery. By incorporating this therapy, patients may experience improved comfort and rehabilitation outcomes.
In addition, Jason Barnhard, CRNA, fellowship trained pain management provider, offers iovera® as an option within his broader pain management services, expanding non-opioid solutions available to patients seeking relief from chronic or procedure-related pain.
The addition of iovera® reflects HRMC’s focus on enhancing patient care through safe and effective pain management options.
Orthopedic surgeon for HRMC, Kevin Hofer, MD, is thrilled to have this cutting-edge pain treatment available to his patients. “Offering iovera® is going to make a big difference in pain management and promote success in early post-surgical rehabilitation.” He continued, “This, along with Mako robotic assisted surgery and the renovation our operating areas are prime examples of how we’re continuing our commitment to deliver top-of-the-line care right here in Huron.”
