Letter – Williams 4-11-26

To the editor,

Insipidly stupid and senile. Dead soldiers are not walking around without legs. Trump stumbles into a war with Iran based on the advice of two real estate guys. Iran’s military now controls the Strait of Hormuz. Oil has stopped flowing, and it’s wreaking havoc on the world’s economy. Aluminum and fertilizer also come through the Strait, affecting our farmers as planting season is about to start.

Oil prices need to be under $100 per barrel. For every dollar above $100, it translates to 2.5 cents per gallon at the pump. If the price is over $100, it spirals inflation in the United States.

Russia is targeting US troops and facilities in the Middle East by providing intelligence for Iran. While simultaneously starting a war with Iran, the Trump administration is quietly trying to get the DOJ to withdraw a guilty plea of a Russian operative.

Trump didn’t think this through and is now stuck with no coalition allies to help. The one asset that Iran will always have is its geographic location. They can defend the Strait of Hormuz with minimal risk and minimal assets, further hampering the world’s economy.

There is no rational explanation for going to war. What’s the end game?

Saudi Arabia set its own policy by paying Jared Kushner $2 billion and secured it with an additional $2 billion. They are effectively getting rid of an adversary (Iran) by renting the United States military to carry out their plan.

Trump said he won’t sign another bill until the Save America Act is on his desk. If Congress is still in session and a bill sits on his desk for 10 days without a signature, it becomes law. No signature required. This Constitutional provision prevents a President from blocking legislation by simply ignoring it. Facts matter.
