HURON — The Huron boys’ tennis team opened the season with a 7-2 victory against Brookings on Wednesday at Huron Courts. The Tigers won five the six singles matches. Earning singles wins for Huron were Lah Gay Soe at No. 2, Klee Htoo at No. 3, Ywa Hae Moo at No. 4, Riley Winegar at No. 5 and Jeremiah Notario at No. 6. The Tigers also won a pair of double matches. Soe and Mood claimed a win at No. 2, while Winegar combined with Jim Wah to claim a win at No. 3.

Mitchell claims win against Huron
MITCHELL — Mitchcll secured a 7-2 victory against Huron on Thursday. Lah Gay Soe had the lone singles victory for the Tigers at No. 2. He defeated Jakobi Brink with back-to-back set wins of 6-3. The other victory for Huron came in No. 2 doubles. Lah Gay Soe and Ywa Hae Moo needed a 10-7 victory in a tiebreaker to win the match. The Tigers will host Watertown and Pierre in a triangular at 9 a.m. Saturday at Huron Courts.
