Brock Contreras receives meritorius service award

Sara Brock Contreras, Lincoln, Neb., received the Meritorious Graduate Student Award from the School of Natural Resources at the University of Lincoln at the awards banquet, Saturday, April 11.
Brock Contreras is a doctoral candidate in the School of Natural Resources. Over the past three years, she has facilitated activities and research for the Know Your Well program which led to over 50 schools being involved in the program. She has given several presentations on her program to national organizations and was selected to be a part of the Science and Policy Geo-Sciences Congressional Visits Day in Washington, D.C., in 2025.
This prestigious award is given annually to a PhD student in recognition of their academic achievements, honors, and awards, GPA of at least 3.5; research/teaching contributions; leadership accomplishments (academic and professional); service activities (community and professional organizations); and personal qualities (leadership, commitment to excellence, and communication skills).
Brock Contreras is married to Corey Contreras and is the daughter of Tony and Maryann Brock, Lincoln, Neb. She is the granddaughter of Bud and Gail Brock, Hitchcock.
