Buchanan K-1 Center Counseling
Greetings from the Buchanan K-1 Center Counseling Office! So many exciting and positive things have been going on here at the Buchanan K-1 Center!
This year, during classroom counseling rotations, students have been learning and exploring emotions through the SPOT of Feelings book series. These engaging and kid-friendly stories help students learn how to identify their emotions, understand that ALL feelings are okay, and recognize how their bodies respond to different emotions. Opening each lesson, students are also taught a new breathing strategy that they can use when their feelings get too big.
You can support this learning at home by encouraging your child to talk about their feelings and practice calming strategies together.
At the beginning of March, we had a wonderful evening at Kindergarten Registration! This is a friendly reminder that if you (or someone you know) has a child who will be 5 years old before September 1, please stop by the Buchanan School office to register, and don’t forget to bring your child’s birth certificate. We can’t wait to welcome our newest learners!
