Huron splits pair of matches against ESD opponents

HURON — The Huron boys’ tennis team emerged with a split against a pair of Eastern South Dakota Conference schools on Thursday at Huron Courts.

Yankton recorded an 8-1 victory against the Tigers in the first match.

Klee Htoo had the lone victory for Huron with a 10-7 win at No. 3 singles.

The Tigers rebounded to pull out a 5-4 win against Aberdeen Central.

Earning singles wins for Huron were Lah Gay Soe at No. 2, Ywa Hae Moo at No. 4, Riley Wimegar at No. 5 and Jeremiah Notario at No. 6.

Soe and Ywa Hae Moo used an 10-9 (5) win, in No. 2 doubles to secure the match for the Tigers.

Huron will host Vermillion and Milbank in a triangular on Tuesday at Huron Courts. Matches are scheduled for 11 a.m., and 3 p.m.
