Tigers compete in Corn Palace Relays

MITCHELL — Three of the top four spots in the girls’ javelin during the Corn Palace Relays on Thursday at Joe Quintal Field were occupied for Huron athletes.

Maggie Storm won the event for the Tigers with a throw of 114 feet, six inches, which edged teammate Hylton Heinz for the top spot by a mere four inches.

Alyse Davis was fourth for the Tigers at 108-1.

Isabelle Kramer finished second for Huron in the girls’ discus with a throw of 116-7, while Davis was eighth in the shot put at 34-0.5.

Ava Wambach was fifth for the Tigers in the 100-meter dash at 13.03 seconds.

Huron was sixth in the 3,200 relay (Chloe Carr, Josie Vlieger, Ellie Puterbaugh, Lily Meyer) at 10:40.55, sixth in the medley relay (Olivia Tschetter, Reagan Bischoff, Jayla Schley, Ramsey Rozell) at 4:54.55 and eighth in the 1,600 relay (Tschetter, Carr, Meyer, Puterbaugh) at 4:38.20.

Teagan Lien was fourth for the Huron boys’ in the 300 hurdles at 43.19. Carter Porisch was fourth in the discus at 148-3, while Anderson Porisch was sixth in the event at 142-2.

Leon Waldner was sixth for the Tigers in the long jump at 18-11.5.

Next up for the Huron track teams is the Redfield Relays on Thursday.
