Tigers stretch winning streak to six matches with pair of victories

PIERRE — The Huron boys’ tennis team stretched its win streak to six with wins against Pierre and Spearfish on Tuesday.

The Tigers opened with a 6-3 victory against Pierre and then claimed an 8-1 win against the Spartans.

Earning singles wins for Huron against the Governors were Lah Gay Soe at No. 2, Ywa Hae Moo at No. 4, Riley Winegar and No. 5 and Jeremiah Notario at No. 6.

Soe and Moo combined for the win at No. 2 doubles, while Winegar and Jim Wah needed a tiebreaker to win in No. 3 doubles.

A loss in a tiebreaker during the opening set of the No. 1 singles match prevented the Tigers for recording the sweep against Spearfish.

Huron will face Rapid City Christian and St. Thomas More during the Sioux Falls Christian Class A Invite on Saturday at Tomar Park in Sioux Falls.
