Mid-Dakota scholarships awarded to four students

The board of directors of the Mid-Dakota Rural Water System is pleased to announce that four students have been chosen to receive a scholarship of $750.00 each.

The very deserving individuals are Bobbi Eide, the daughter of Shon & Gerri Eide from the rural area near Gettysburg; Addyson Baruth, the daughter of Rob & Melissa Baruth from the rural area near Alpena; Madison Bradberry, the daughter of Kevin & Christy Bradberry from Onida; and Cambree Hoekman, the daughter of Landon Arthurs and Devan Hoekman from the rural area near Tulare. Bobbi is planning to attend South Dakota State University to pursue a career in Agriculture Education and Communications. Addyson plans to attend Northern State University to pursue a career in Psychology-Special Education. Madison is planning to attend Northern State University to pursue a career in Nursing. Cambree plans to attend Lake Area Technical College to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy.

The board of directors voted in the fall of 2005 to implement a scholarship program that would award a $750.00 scholarship to four successful applicants. To qualify, a student must be attending a South Dakota Post-Secondary educational facility; have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher; and write a 250–500-word essay on what rural water has meant to the applicant or his/her community. The student must either reside in a community that is a customer of Mid-Dakota or be a child of an individual customer of Mid-Dakota.
