HURON –– Buchanan K-1 Center was home to a celebration Tuesday morning, as education staff from the state came to announce first-grade teacher Krissa Korkow the Region 3 teacher of the year.

She was presented with a banner from Secretary of Education Dr. Joseph Graves in the presence of a school-wide assembly. Korkow will interview with a panel this summer to compete with the other four finalists for the state teacher of the year.
