HRMC Dialysis receives immunization award

HURON –– Huron Regional Medical Center Dialysis has been recognized by the Midwest Kidney Network with an Immunization Impact Award for its outstanding commitment to improving patient immunization rates and protecting the health of individuals receiving kidney care.

The award recognizes dialysis facilities that demonstrate exceptional dedication to patient safety through strong immunization efforts and coordinated care initiatives.

In a letter accompanying the recognition, Patrick Shannon praised the HRMC Dialysis team for its work to improve patient outcomes.

“Reaching these milestones requires immense coordination and a genuine commitment to patient health,” Shannon wrote. “The work you’ve done to improve immunization rates is a vital contribution to the safety and well-being of the kidney care community.”

The Immunization Impact Award highlights the importance of preventative care measures for patients with kidney disease, who often face increased health risks due to compromised immune systems and ongoing treatment needs.

“Our dialysis team is deeply committed to providing exceptional care for every patient we serve,” said Paula Wiebe, RN, director of dialysis services for HRMC. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff to not only deliver high-quality dialysis treatment, but also to promote overall wellness and protection for our patients through preventative care.”

The Midwest Kidney Network serves dialysis providers and patients across multiple Midwestern states and works to improve the quality of care and health outcomes for individuals with kidney disease.
