FFA members recognized as District Star Greenhands

BROOKINGS –– Eight FFA members were recognized as District Star Greenhands during the 98th South Dakota FFA State Convention on Tuesday, April 21 during the third session at First Bank and Trust Arena, sponsored by the U.S. Army. Each year, the South Dakota FFA Association recognizes one Greenhand member from each district who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). These members advanced beyond the chapter level through an application and interview process, where district stars were selected based on their accomplishments and growth during their first year in FFA.

The District Star Greenhand awards are sponsored as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation by Central Farmers Cooperative.

District winners are: District One: Ty Haskell, Doland FFA; District Two: Cooper VanderWal, Sioux Valley FFA; District Three: Jade Twedt, Beresford FFA; District Four: Taylor Hawley, Bridgewater-Emery FFA; District Five: Kate Blair, Belle Fourche FFA; District Six: Hayes Christiansen, Wessington Springs FFA; District Seven: Charlie Cody, Tri-Valley FFA; District Eight: Myah Bauer, Lemmon FFA.
