HURON — A trio of drivers reached Victory Lane at Dakota State Fair Speedway on Saturday for the first time in quite a while.
Brad Kopecky of Miller collected his first career win in a super stock at the Huron oval. It was the second win of his career at the speedway, with the first coming on June 16 of 2012.
Kopecky started on the outside of the front row and held off Trevor Nelson of Warner, who was the super stock feature winner during the opening night of the season two weeks earlier.
Austin Arbogast of Huron was third in the super stock main event, while Wyatt Schweigert of Huron was fourth and Damon Hoftiezer of Ft. Pierre was fifth.
Bryson North of Huron claimed the win in the lone super stock heat race.
Mike Stearns of Aberdeen earned his first win in the WISSOTA late model division on Saturday at DSFS. It was the 10th win of his career at the Huron track, with his previous most recent win coming on July 4, 2022, in the WISSOTA modified division.
Stearns started on the outside of the front row and battled Chad Becker of Aberdeen, who started on the pole for the top spot in the 20-lap feature race.
It was the second runner-up finish in a row at the speedway for Becker. Chase Gelling of Aberdeen was third, followed by Dustn Arthur of St. Lawrence and Konner Sperle of Aberdeen.
Becker won the lone late model heat race.
Scott Hansen of Garden City reached Victory Lane at DSFS on Saturday in the WISSOTA Midwest modified division for the first time since June 4, 2023. It was the eighth victory of his career at the Huron track.
Hansen started on the pole and stayed out front to win the 15-lap feature race. Adam Brothertown of Huron, who started third in the 14-car field, gained one spot to finish second.
Jake Wranek of Sioux Falls moved from sixth to third, while Dawson Zabel of Selby of fourth and Jayme Peterson of Highmore was fifth.
Wranek won the first of two Midwest modified heat races, while Brotherton won the other.
Maria Broksieck of Goodwin also capitalized on a prime starting spot to steer her way to a win in the 15-lap WISSOTA street stock main event.
Broksieck started on the pole and crossed the line in front of Broc Stout of Winner to earn the fourth win of her career at DSFS. Her most recent win was on Aug. 17, 2024, while Stout, who has 20 career feature wins at the track, was looking to snap a winless streak, which dates back to Aug. 22, 2020.
Wyatt Brooker of Huron was third, followed by Chris Serr of Aberdeen, who gained fourth spots to finish fourth. Andy Rossow of Florence was fifth.
Jayden Bogh of Huron, who won the feature during the opening night of the season, won the first heat race Saturday. Matt Goth of Huron claimed the win in the second heat race.
The same four classes will be back in action at 7 p.m. Saturday at Dakota State Fair Speedway.
