SBA 36, Hitchcock-Tulare 14
MILLER — Sunshine Bible Academy earned its second win of the season with a 36-14 victory against Hitchcock-Tulare on Monday.
Teigan Clark rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Crusaders, who are now 2-5, to the win. He had touchdown runs of 37, 2 and 1 yards.
Also scoring for SBA were Josh VanHeuvelen on a 9-yard run and Jade Burma on a 35-yard pass from EJ Big Eagle.
VanHeuleven had four carries for 31 yards for the Crusaders, while Everett Paul ran four times for 15 yards. Big Eagle finished 4 of 12 passing for 55 yards.
Defensively, Clark had 18 tackles for SBA, while Iver Paul had 13 tackles.
Logan Gilbert had the first touchdown for Hitchcock-Tulare with a 4-yard run in the opening quarter.
Kyle Hamilton added to the total for the Patriots in the third quarter with a 39-yard kick return for a touchdown.
Jack Boomsma finished with 29 yards on three carries to lead Hitchcock-Tulare. Cullen McNeil was 3 of 11 passing for 26 and had a pair of interceptions. Gilbert caught all three passes for 26 yards.
Wyatt Brooker recorded nine tackles for the Patriots, who are now 3-4, while Titus Waldner and Gilbert each seven tackles.
Both teams will close the regular season on Friday. Sunshine Bible Academy travels to play Wolsey-Wessington, while Hitchcock-Tulare hosts North Border in Tulare.
