IROQUOIS — The Wessington Springs Lady Spartans clawed out a third-set overtime thriller and went on to defeat the Iroquois-Doland Chiefs Tuesday night in 281 Conference volleyball action. Wessington Springs scores were 25-11, 17-25, 27-25 and 25-6.
The Lady Spartans evened their season mark at 1-1, 1-0 and in the conference. I-D falls to 0-3 and 0-1.
Makayla Dornbusch had seven kills and Kindra Wolter added five for Wessington Springs. Grace Gran had five ace serves and Maddie Privett led the defense with 18 digs.
Katie Dubro led all players with 10 kills for the Chiefs. Niah Rogers added three aces, Harley Nelson had 15 set assists and Sierra Kogel chipped in 11 digs.
Springs is back in action tonight, when it hosts Bridgewater-Emery, while Iroquois-Doland is on the road at Aberdeen Christian.

Redfield 3, Hitchcock-Tulare 2

REDFIELD — The Redfield Pheasants came back from early deficits to win the final two sets and earn a 3-2 win over the Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots in non-conference volleyball action Tuesday night. H-T took the first set 25-16, but the Pheasants took the second 25-20. The Lady Patriots regrouped for an overtime 28-26 win in the third set, but Redfield came back for a 25-17 win in the fourth set and persevered 15-10 in the fifth and deciding set.
Courtney Turck had 13 kills, while Kailee Clausen had 12 kills, eighteen digs and registered three aces to pace the Pheasant attack. Hannah Kuehn handed out 28 assists in the game and added 17 digs.
The Lady Patriots got six kills each from Ashley Masat and Elizabeth Salmen. Kaitlyn Rathjen had a match-high eight service aces, as H-T had 14 aces in the game. Kenidee Enander had 27 assists. Salmen led the defense with 18 digs and Dannyn Peterson had 16 in the match.
Hitchcock-Tulare will travel to James Valley Christian tonight, while the Pheasants will host Tiospa Zina tonight.

Hanson 3,
Sanborn Central-Woonsocket 1

ALEXANDRIA — The Hanson Beaverettes evened their season record at 2-2 Tuesday night, with a 3-1 win over the Sanborn Central-Woonsocket Blackhawks in non-conference volleyball action. Set scores for Hanson were 25-23, 25-15, 14-25 and 25-21.
The Beaverettes got six kills each from Elizabeth Arend and Josie Bartscher, who also added four blocks in the match. Abby Kortan handed out 12 assists in the game and Hanna Robinson led the defense with 17 digs. Kortan and Jada Tuttle each had a pair of service aces.
For the Blackhawks, Cassidy Slykhuis had a match-high 11 kills, while Brooke Doering had six blocks. Taryn Ziebart handed out 12 assists and had 12 digs and teammate Kaylee White led the team with 18 digs and three ace serves.
Sanborn Central-Woonsocket, now 1-3 on the year, will travel to Ethan tonight.
