HURON — Aaron Smith, 16, of Huron, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017, at his home.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 15, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Kuhler Funeral Home with his family present from 5 to 7 p.m. and a time of sharing at 7 p.m.
Aaron James Smith was born August 10, 2001, to Tony and JoAnn (Peck) Smith at Huron. He attended Huron Middle School and Wolsey/Wessington High School. He had worked at Fair City Foods and had just started working at Jensen Feeds.
Aaron enjoyed all things hunting. He loved his family and spending time with his grandpa on the farm. He wanted to farm when he grew up. He loved to hang out with his friends and shared their love of trucks. He spent countless hours with the family dog, Smokey and his new puppy, Max.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Alex Smith; maternal grandparents, Jim Peck and Debbie Baruth; paternal grandfather, Don Smith; and one uncle, D.J. Smith.
He is survived by his parents, Tony and JoAnn; sisters, Ashley (Casey) Harty of De Smet and Alyssa Smith of Watertown; grandmother, Shar Smith of Huron; grandfather, Ron Baruth of Alpena; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
