Sunday, Aug. 21, brings a high-energy show from Nashville, Tenn., featuring Adam Pope and his rockin’ band, Monroe SUN, with special guest Amy Pope, to the Midstate’s Theatre at the De Smet Event Center.

Performing as part of the De Smet Area Concert Series for 2022, the great music and fun begins at 3 PM.

While the Monroe SUN group, brainchild of singer-songwriter, guitarist and country classicist, Adam Pope, boasts a repertoire of bluegrass and rockabilly numbers, like “Great Balls of Fire,” it’s the band’s songs and narratives within that offer highlights. The beautiful music of guest Amy Pope seals the show. “She brings pretty on stage, with her voice,” Adam says of his wife.

Adam is a songwriter, storyteller, and entertainer influenced by the energy of Elvis Presley and Garth Brooks, the songwriting of Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Sr, and the ’90s country delivery of Alan Jackson and Randy Travis.

Individual tickets are on sale. Call to reserve tickets at 605-854-3502; 605-854-6060. De Smet Concert Series members do not need to call for tickets.
