HURON — Adena Wipf, 88, of Huron, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home.
Her funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 16, at the Living Hope Alliance Church. Burial will be in the Ideal Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Kuhler Funeral Home with a prayer service at
7 p.m. Her family will be present for visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church on Monday.
Adena Edna Pullman was born May 12, 1929, to Dave and Mary (Gross) Pullman at Hitchcock. Her mother passed away in 1932, and her father in 1934. At the age of three, she went to live with her adoptive parents, Dave and Lucy Tschetter. They were rural neighbors to her parents. She attended country school in Beadle County. Adena accepted Jesus as her Savior on June 8, 1941, and was baptized in the James River August 22, 1948.
She was united in marriage to Floyd Wipf June 5, 1949. They became members of the Huron Mission Church. After several years, they moved to Carthage in 1961. They owned and operated Pheasant Foods grocery store. After moving back to Huron in 1966, they actively attended the Huron Mission Church. Floyd served as an usher and Adena was the church organist for nine years.
Adena was employed at the Tschetter & Hohm Clinic for about 20 years. Adena loved to read, keep house, cook and bake. She made the best caramel rolls! She had a green thumb and had a large collection of live plants. Adena commented, “Give me flowers while I can enjoy them.” She later learned to appreciate silk plants (the beauty without all the work). Silk plants were throughout her home.  Adena enjoyed decorating the house for every holiday.  Cats were always welcomed in the home. Floyd and Adena enjoyed traveling and selling their antiques in the five-state area until their health failed to keep up with them.
She is survived by son, Eli (Cindy) Wipf of Watertown; two daughters, Ruby (Harley) Crandall of Huron, and Lori Meyers of Huron; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her most recent cat, Babe.
Adena was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years; her parents and adoptive parents; two sons, Kenneth and infant David; her brother, Ferd Pullman; two sisters, Lavina Pullman and Lydia Kleinsasser; and a set of twin sisters, Emma Hirschorn and Anne Gross.
In lieu of plants and flowers the family welcomes memorial contributions.
