All-Stars cruise to victory against Mitchell

HURON — The Huron All-Stars scored the first three goals en route to a 9-4 victory against the Mitchell Marlins on Friday at Bergman Arena.
Xavier Erickson, Rei Hoops and Lucas Snyder each had goals in the opening period for the All-Stars. Walker Schiltz, Snyder and Carson Duba had assists.
Despite getting off to the quick start, Huron found itself clinging to a 3-2 advantage heading into the second period.
The All-Stars would pull away during the second 17 minutes of play, outscoring Mitchell 4-1.

Spencer Busch and Walker Schiltz had goals to open the period, while Erickson tallied back-to-back goals to earn the hat trick and give Huron a 7-2 lead.
Erickson assisted on Schiltz’s goal, while Thacher Dramstad assisted on Erickson’s second goal and Busch assited on the final goal.
With a 7-3 lead, the All-Stars sealed the win with a pair of goals in the third period. Erickson had both of the goals on unassisted shots, with the first coming during a short-handed situation.
Jacob Wehde stopped 30 of the 34 shots he faced in the net as the Huron goalie.
The All-Stars, who had 26 shots on goal, will be back in action today, when they host Sioux Falls at 7 p.m. at Bergman Arena.
