All-Stars earn pair of exhibition wins against Oahe

HURON — The Huron All-Stars earned their second exhibition win against the Oahe Capitals in as many days on Sunday, when the two teams squared off at Bergman Arena.
Izaiah Phillips had the lone goal in the opening period by either team to give the All-Stars a 1-0 advantage. He scored on an unassisted shot.
Huron then took control of the game with three goals in the second period.
Xavier Erickson scored on an unassisted shot to give Huron a 2-0 advantage and Matt Voss found the net on a pass from Carson Duba to make it 3-0.
Pierre avoided the shutout with its first goal in the second period. Jackson Lake scored on an unassisted shot.
The All-Stars would answer with the final goal of the second period. Phillips scored on a pass from Tanner Berquist to make it 4-1 heading into the final period.
The Capitals had the lone goal in the third period. Andy Gordon scored on a pass from Talon Griese.

Marty Boetel earned the win in the net for Huron, stopping 24 of the 26 shots he faced.
Riley Briggs had 20 saves for Oahe.
On Saturday, The All-Stars emerged with a 7-3 win in an exhibition matchup in Pierre.
After each team scored in the opening period, Huron outscored the Capitals 3-1 in each of the final two periods.
Lucas Snyder scored the first of his two goals for the All-Stars in the opening period on a pass from Jacob Maas. His second came in the second period on a pass from Jayden Bogh.
Erickson earned a hat trick for Huron. His first of two goals in the second period came on a pass from Josiah Savery, with the second coming on a pass from Snyder.
Erickson’s final goal came in the third period on a pass from Berquist.
Also scoring in the final period for the All-Stars were Phillips and Thacher Dramstad. Spencer Busch had an assist.
Scoring for the Capitals were Gordon, Caden Davis and Griese. Recording assists were Griese, Davis, Elliot Leif and Raef Briggs.
Jacob Wehde turned away 26 of the 29 shots he faced to earn the win for Huron.
Tate Mueller had 19 saves for Oahe.
The All-Stars will open the season Nov. 25-27 with the Rooster Cup Tournament at Bergman Arena.
