WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Allen Shefner, 65, of Wessington Springs, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at the Firesteel Nursing Home in Mitchell.
His memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs, with Rev. John Paulson officiating.
Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Storla at a later date.
His memorial visitation will be from 5 to 7 Friday evening at the Basham Funeral Home in Wessington Springs, with the family present.
Allen Ray Shefner was born on January 15, 1955, to Orlin and Lois (Thompson) Shefner.
He married Lisa Barber in 1977. Later he was joined in marriage to Lorre Dicken.
He is survived by his two daughters, Angela (Matt) Thompson, and Jennifer (Kevin) Dubal; three-step daughters; brothers, Dina (Pudge) Shefner, Gregg Shefner; and a sister, Peggy (Clifford) Tibbs; and nine gradchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife, Lorre; and his grandparents.
