An excellent day for the Ringneck Festival hunt

Posted

After two days of cold and wind, the weather cleared and participants in the Ringneck Festival team hunt had near perfect conditions. Teams each were allowed a limited number of shells and the winning team harvested the most birds with the shells alloted.
Results from the hunt will be published in the Tuesday Plainsman.

Jason Goeding and Bob Karrick both members of the Wired & Wound team were out in search of ringnecks on Saturday. Both hunters are from Minnesota.

From the left is committee member Craig Lee, Dan Cathcart of Carpenter, Wisc, committee member Tom Glanzer, and Ernest Vigil of Cheyenne, Wisc. Cathcart and Vigil had the top score of 3020 points in their run on Friday morning with their dog, Cam.

This whitetail doe gets some impressive air, as she makes her escape on Saturday.
