PEORIA, Ariz. — Ardella “Della” Mae (Boyd) Hofer, 80, of Peoria, Ariz., passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, at Freedom Plaza Health Center in Peoria, following a brief illness.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 12 noon, Saturday, December 2, at the Living Hope Alliance Church in Huron.
Ardella Mae was born December 22, 1936, in Huron to Arthur Emerson and Hazel Charlotte (Grann) Boyd. She was united in marriage to Delbert Zack Hofer June 4, 1954.
She retired in 2012, from the Arizona Department of Education where she had worked for 25 years in various capacities ending in the CTE (Career and Technical Ed) department. She was a member of Northwest Community Church. She enjoyed playing card games like 1500, Golf and Uno as well as Dominoes and Dice.
She is survived by her children, Nicholas W. (Janet “Lee”) Hofer of Streamwood, Ill., Peggy (Tim) Scolan of Evergreen Park, Ill.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Tschetter, Jan (Paul) Aughenbaugh, James (Jo), Dennis (Joan), and Rodney (Gerri); and lots of loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Fawn Annette; husband, Delbert; parents, Art and Hazel Boyd; and parents-in-law, Zack and Susie Hofer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona, or to an education fund for her great grandchildren.
