REDFIELD — A pair of area high school baseball teams will open postseason play in the Region 2B Tournament on Sunday.

Redfield Area is the second seed and will host No. 7 Hamlin Area at 4 p.m.. The winner will face the winner of the game between No. 3 Groton Area and No. 6 Sioux Valley, which is slated for 2 p.m. Sunday in Redfield. The quarterfinal game, which will determine a state qualifier is scheduled for 6 p.m.

In the other half of the Region 2B bracket, No. 4 Madison will face No. 5 W-I-N at 2 p.m., in Canova and top-seeded Howard will face No. 8 Wolsey-Wessington/Miller-Highmore/Wessington Springs at 4:30 p.m.

The state qualifying game will follow at 6:30 p.m.

The eight qualifiers from the region tournaments will meet at Sioux Falls State for the Class B State Tournament on May 29-30.
