Redfield 52, Wolsey-Wessington 39
REDFIELD - The Redfield Pheasants used a huge fourth quarter to finally put away a pesky Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds team Saturday at the Redfield Classic by a final score of 52-39.

The Lady Warbirds led entering the fourth quarter before the Pheasants put together a 24-9 final period to secure the victory.

Redfield moved to 5-2 behind a big game from Addison Rozell who led all scorers with 22 points and also grabbed 12 rebounds. Alison Larson grabbed 10 boards for the Pheasants.

Individual statistics were not available for the Lady Warbirds, who fall to 5-2.

Wolsey-Wessington begins play in the 281 tournament Friday. Redfield hosts Miller Tuesday.

HURON - The James Valley Christian Lady Vikings made a big fourth quarter comeback to claim a home victory Saturday over the Sully Buttes Chargers.

Karilyn Wieting had a big game for JVC with 22 points as the Lady Vikings moved to 5-4 on the season.

Brenna Held added nine points.

Allyson Wittler led the Chargers, now 4-5, with 16 points. Lydia Hill added 10 points for Sully Buttes.

The Lady Vikings host De Smet tonight.

ONIDA - The Highmore-Harrold Pirates fought for three quarters before putting away the Sully Buttes Chargers in the fourth quarter of a 47-37 road victory Friday night in Onida.

The Pirates remain unbeaten at 7-0 with the victory. Courtney Moser led Highmore-Harrold with 23 points, including five 3-point shots made, and Letha Jessen added 12 points.

Stevie Wittler was the only Charger in double digits with 10 points as Sully Buttes fell to 4-4 on the season.

The Pirates open 281 conference tournament play Friday.

MILLER - The Iroquois/Doland Lady Chiefs jumped out early and coasted to a big victory Friday on the road over the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders, 52-17.

Katie Dubro led all scorers with 21 points for Iroquois/Doland, who won their second in a row to move to 3-4 on the season. Anna Decker scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Lady Chiefs. Kera Dubro also cleared eight boards for Iroquois/Doland.

Sunshine Bible Academy fell to 0-6 on the year. Shelby Bridges, Taylor Nelson, and Jakki Burma each had five points to lead the Crusaders. Betra Amare grabbed six rebounds to lead SBA.

The Lady Chiefs begin 281 play Friday. The Crusaders travel to Lower Brule Tuesday before 281 tourney play.

CLEAR LAKE - The Redfield Pheasants defense pitched a shutout in the first quarter en route to a huge 54-18 victory over the Deuel Cardinals in Clear Lake on Friday.

Addison Rozell led the Pheasants to a 4-2 season record with 14 points on the night. Faith Jandel added 10 points.

Deuel fell to 1-5 on the season. Haley Winter and Harley Hennings each scored eight points for the Cardinals. Hennings led the team with five rebounds.

Redfield hosts Miller Tuesday.

HURON - The Sully Buttes Chargers defense stifled the James Valley Christian Vikings all night Saturday en route to a 62-36 victory at JVC.

Individual statistics were not available for Sully Buttes, who moves to 3-4 with the victory.

Landon Wager scored 10 points for the Vikings, who at 0-7 are still in search of their first victory of the season. Wager also led the Vikings with seven rebounds and added four steals.

James Valley Christian hosts Oldham-Ramona/Rutland Tuesday before opening 281 conference tourney play.

TULARE - The Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots made a valiant effort in the second half, but fell short in their comeback attempt to the Faulkton Trojans Friday night in Tulare by a final score of 51-43.

The Trojans won their third straight game after opening the year 0-2. Bennett Cassens nailed four deep shots as part of his 18 points. Simon Bowar added 13 points for Faulkton.

The Patriots fell to 0-5 on the year with the loss. Carter Binger and Kyle Hamilton led a balanced Hitchcock-Tulare offensive attack with eight points apiece.

Hitchcock-Tulare travels to Warner Tuesday.

CLEAR LAKE - The Redfield Pheasants overcame an early deficit with a strong second half to defeat the Deuel Cardinals Friday night in Clear Lake, 59-50.

The Pheasants move to 5-1 on the season behind a big night from Jaxson Frankenstein, who scored 26 points. Payton Osborn pitched in 14 for Redfield, including four from behind the 3-point arc.

Cooper Schiernbeck led Deuel, now 3-3, with 15 points. Layton Eide added 11 points for the Cardinals.
