Highmore-Harrold 61, Iroquois/Doland 25
HIGHMORE — Highmore-Harrold outscored Iroquois/Doland 23-1 in the opening quarter en route to a 61-25 victory in a 281 Conference matchup on Monday.
Letha Jessen had 19 points to lead all scorers for the Pirates, who improved to 11-7. Lainey Aasby and Haley Husted had eight and seven points, respectively, while Courtney Moser and Alexis Roth each had six points.
Husted and Rother shared the rebounding honors for Highmore-Harrold with five rebounds each. Aasby tallied six assists.
Katie Dubro led Iroquois/Doland, which is now 2-17, with 10 points. Anna Decker had five points and eight rebounds, while Harley Nelson and Jorja Huls each had four points.
Both teams return to action today. Highmore-Harrold hosts Ipswich, while Iroquois/Doland hosts Estelline/Hendricks in Iroquois.

IROQUOIS — Iroquois/Doland handed Estelline/Hendricks its seventh straight loss with a 70-66 victory on Monday.
Keistan Dubro had a game-high 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Chiefs, who improved to 8-9. Shawn Diehl and Reilyn Zavesky added 16 and 15 points, respectively.
Marcis Hausman and Jacoby Flegel each had 16 points for Estelline/Hendricks, which had four players in double figures. Dawson Bury had 13 points, while Riley Bening added 10 points.
Iroquois/Doland returns to action today with a 281 Conference against Highmore-Harrold in Highmore.

Canistota 57, De Smet 45
MITCHELL — Canistota, which was also receiving votes in the Class B boys’ basketball rankings, used strong runs in the first and third quarters to topple No. 1-ranked De Smet 57-45 during the DWU/Culver’s Classic on Saturday at the Corn Palace.
The Hawks, who improved to 14-3, opened a 13-6 lead in the first quarter and then outscored the Bulldogs 19-8 in the third quarter.
“Canistota played great defense and they got a lead early and we did not execute well against it to get the lead back,” De Smet coach Jeff Gruenhagen said. “ We made several mental errors in the game on both O and D. It will be good film for us to learn from and hopeful to get back on track Tuesday at Deubrook.”
Cole Papendick finished with a game-high 19 points to lead three players in double figures for Canistota. Isaiah Robertson and Tyce Ortman added 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Kalen Garry led De Smet, which is now 15-2, with 18 points and nine rebounds. Tory Holland also reached double figures with 10 points, while Rett Osthus and Ethan McCune had eight and seven points, respectively.
The Bulldogs will travel to face Deubrook today.
